DAREDEVILS will once again showcase their gravity-defying stunts when they duke it out in the 19th Ornopia Motocross Cup slated April 9 in Barangay Calambua, San Remigio town, northern Cebu.

Organized by long-time Cebuano motocross patron Lou Ornopia, the competition will pit over a hundred of riders from Cebu and other places from Visayas and Mindanao.

“Talking about motocross, it’s all about passion for me. If I don’t have that, we don’t have lasted this long,” said Ornopia in last Thursday’s SCOOP-Cebu forum at Pino Restaurant.

The competition will once again showcase the impressive race track in Calambua.

“I am expecting a huge turnout. I am proud to showcase our race course in Calambua, which is of international standard. Riders love competing there,” added Ornopia, owner of MS Motosuit Store, the prime corporate backer of the race.

One of the riders to watch out for is Cebuano BJ Pepito, who, at 15 years old, is the youngest participant in the pro division.

Other featured categories are pro open, expert, peewee 50cc and 65cc and mini 85cc, beginners, local enduro, open enduro, executive A, B and C, novice and intermediate.

“I look forward to a very exciting and highly entertaining competition. This is something that the Cebuano motocross fans should not miss,” said Ornopia, a one-time ‘Sportsman of the Year’ by the Sportswriters Association of Cebu.
