Parklane’s ‘Sangka sa Kaha’ features Sibonga specialty dish

CEBU Parklane International Hotel spiced things up last August 4 in Southern Cebu as they brought their annual Sangka sa Kaha to Sibonga.

The 6th leg of Parklane’s cook-off competition was held in Sibonga Heritage Park where six teams from different barangays in the municipality showcased their mastery in cooking their local specialty dish – Adubaw nga Nokus.

After the smoke cleared, a five-man judging panel declared kaha (team) number 2, led by Rolando dela Vega, as the winner.

The winning team received a cash prize, gift certificates and an opportunity for their recipe to be featured in Parklane’s own Kan-anan restaurant.

This cooking competition was also graced by Sibonga’s Mayor Caroline Bacaltos and a handful of other government officials, particularly from the tourism office.

Parklane’s brand ambassadors and social media personalities Rowell Ucat aka Medyo Maldito and Snake Princess were also in attendance.

Sangka sa Kaha is a culinary showdown initiated by Cebu Parklane International Hotel in an effort to highlight local Cebuano dishes from different municipalities across the province.

This is in line with Parklane’s trademark tagline as “A hotel in Cebu that stands for Cebu”.

“We want our guests to experience Cebu firsthand the moment they step inside the hotel. So it doesn’t just have to be the feeling of being in Cebu but also the food.

That’s why instead of featuring international dishes, as much as possible, we feature local dishes at our specialty restaurant Kan-anan. ” said Jaybee Aquino, Marketing Manager of Cebu Parklane International Hotel.
