Motorists urged to respect pedestrian lanes especially in schools

By: Morexette Erram June 05,2018 - 02:19 PM

To avoid accidents, Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor on police matters, urged motorists to strictly follow the pedestrian lanes, especially in schools.

Violators, he said, will be asked to pay a fine of P1,000.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education (DepEd) said they continue to look for ways to address flooding in some schools in the region.

Amaryllis Villarmia, public information officer of DepEd-7, said a team has been monitoring the situations in schools.

Meanwhile, the Department of Education in Central Visayas (DepEd-7) will inspect school buildings in the region to ensure that school structures are disaster resilient especially those near flood-prone areas.

Since the opening of classes coincides with the onset of the rainy season, classrooms flooded due to incessant rains remain a problem for students.

DepEd-7 will also be conducting information drive to prepare schools for possible calamities. / with STC Intern Jaive Ria Agbon
