THE CASINO Active-University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars will be out for revenge when they take on the M. Lhuillier-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters in the 2018 Cesafi Partner’s Cup, today at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Jaguars have not forgotten how the Webmasters ousted them from the semifinals last season and will be carrying that bitter memory into today’s preseason match.
USJ-R is itching to get into the win column after it succumbed to the University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors in their opening game.
Expected to carry the fight will be the Jaguars’ cadre of guards led by reigning MVP, Jaybie Mantilla, who decided to return to the team after trying out for the Manila Stars in the MPBL.
UC will not be an easy customer. With two wins in their first two games, the Webmasters will be gunning for another victory behind a much-improved attack led by Cameroonian forward Frederick Elombi, Justine Dacalos, John Jabello and newly acquired guard Paul Galinato.
In the high school division, the University of Southern Philippines Foundation will be trying for its third straight win as it battles Cebu Institute of Technology-University. The reigning Cesafi champion University of the Visayas will also take on USC.
