A GRASSROOTS development program for football dubbed Field of Hope Project 2014 will visit the typhoon-ravaged areas of northern Cebu starting this Friday until March 7.
The targeted areas include towns in Bantayan Island.
The football seminar and workshop aims to establish a three-year football program for the youth of Bantayan Island.
The program also aims to serve as a remedy for the youth in the area experiencing post-traumatic syndrome disorder (PTSD) after they were hit by supertyphoon Yolanda in November 2013.
This program will cater to children aged 8 to 14.
The program is partnering with the non-government organization (NGO)Futbol sa Kalye (Futkal) and MIFALOT, an Israel based NGO that conducts football program to treat PTSD in disaster stricken areas worldwide.
This is also made possible by the Cebu Football Association (CFA), Municipality of Bantayan and Department of Education (DepEd) Cebu Province Division. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
