By: Jonas N. Panerio March 25,2014 - 10:41 AM

The Southwestern University University (SWU) Lady Cobras are hoping to leave a strong impression on the rest of the field when they debut in the Shakey’s V-League First Conference today against the St. Louis University (SLU) at the Arena in San Juan City.

SWU head coach Jordan Paca admitted in an interview that they are heading to today’s game armed with little knowledge of their opponent but, nevertheless, swore that his wards will give it their all in the game slated to start at 2 p.m.

“Wala jud mi kaila sa among kontra today but giingnan lang nako ang mga bata to focus on playing their game and not on their opponent,” said Paca, who steered the Lady Cobras back to the throne after losing it in 2012.

The SLU Lady Navigators are the 2012 Benguet Educational Athletic League champion led by skipper Marian Torres and former team captain Krissian Tsuchiya and beefed up by five players from the University of Baguio and University of the Cordilleras.

SWU  will be pinning its hopes on reinforcement, Lutgard Malaluan of the Cignal HD Spikers, Therese Ramas, Janelle Cabahug, Mae Pacinio and the towering Marlyn Llagoso.

Both SWU and SLU are in Group A along with Arellano University, Adamson, St. Benilde and the favored Ateneo.

In the second game, many-time NCAA champions San Sebastian will be facing off against the Far Eastern University.
