WHILE heavy rainfall dissipated yesterday, a low pressure area was spotted in the Pacific Ocean and was expected to enter the country late last night or early today.
Aside from rains in northeastern Mindanao, the 5 p.m. weather advisory issued by the state weather bureau Pagasa said the “Visayas and Bicol regions will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms.”
The waves in seaboards of Eastern and Central Visayas will be moderate to occasionally rough. As of 4 p.m., the LPA was located 1,120 kilometers east of Guiuan in Eastern Samar.
Pagasa forecaster Gladys Saludes said the LPA is likely to intensify into a tropical depression which will be named ‘Ester’ once it becomes a cyclone.
Based on forecast models, Saludes said the weather disturbance will affect the Bicol region.
