All set for quarterfinals of MCBL hoops

CEBU CITY, Philippines—Six more teams advanced to the quarterfinal round of the Metro Cebu Basketball League (MCBL) Season 5 Recreational Division 6 Feet Under after registering wins in the knockout games last Sunday, February 9, 2020, at the City Sports Club-Cebu.
Leading the way were the Hoopsters, who defeated ST Klub, 93-79.
Wilmer Paloma led the Hoopsters’ win with 39 points on top of five rebounds and two steals.
Lite Shipping also advanced after defeating TSO & CO., 109-70.
Ariel Calomarde towed Lite to the next round with 24 points, three rebounds and two steals.
Air 22 banked on the 53 points of Jimwell Nacilla to trounce Brosco, 102-93, and advance to the round of eight.
The others which advanced were AngelMary Pawnshop, which downed NMAX Club, 159-113; Sherilin, which defeated Spartans, 91-73; and RMA, which blasted the Barracudas, 104-85.
The next round of games will be held this Sunday, February 16, 2020, at the same venue. /bmjo
