By: Fe Marie Dumaboc, Norman V. Mendoza May 24,2014 - 07:44 AM

AN argument over a shabu debt led to the fatal stabbing of a 42-year-old man in barangay Calawisan, Lapu-Lapu City Thursday night.

Randy Berame succumbed to stab wounds in the body and left arm while Franklin Dico, 52, was wounded in the hand when he tried to stop the attack.

The suspect Arvey Berdon surrendered after the incident. The victim and the suspect were neighbors, police said.

Police said Berame went to a neighborhood store to buy some cigarettes when he saw the suspect.
Berame then accosted the suspect about his alleged P200 debt from a previous illegal drugs transaction.

The two had a heated altercation until the suspect stabbed Berame, police said.

Dico tried to pacify the suspect, but he too was stabbed.

Dico however, managed to parry the blow with his hand.

Though wounded, he managed to run for safety.
