Mandaue starts profiling of COVID-19 vaccine recipients
MANDAUE CITY, Philippines – Mandaue City has started profiling the priority sectors for the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program.
Subangdaku Barangay Captain Ernie Manatad, the city’s vaccine czar and Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) president, said the Mandaue Information Systems Office (MISO) and Data Management Team have already conducted an orientation of the barangay personnel on how to register online, encode information of the recipients, and assist target vaccinees on filling up the registration forms.
Manatad said they observed that there is a need to fill up the registration forms first by the vaccine recipients before encoding their information into the system.
As of now, Manatad said, they have already instructed the barangays to reproduce the registration forms and fill them up by the target vaccinees.
“”Yes (nagstart sa profiling). Sa pagkakarun we instructed the barangays to reproduce the forms para fill-upon sa katung mga priority vaccinees aron nga ma encode sa atong mga encoders sa barangay ayha nila itransport sa atong MISU office, so forward didto sa DOH and DICT system,” Manatad said.
Manatad said there were some residents who refused to be interviewed or to be profiled. He added that during the purok enumeration through an automated survey, a lot of people declined to be interviewed as they thought it is already for the mass vaccination.
“We need to correct the idea and mindset sa mga tawo, (we’ll) conduct murag limited pulong-pulong I mean still in number lang para lang gyud to communicate to people nga dili mo mahadlok and even if that is the vaccine registration okay ra man gyud magparegister, after all, there should be a consent on your part kung magpatira mo or dili,” he said
“Dili man sad mo pugson magpatira mo or dili ang importante if you are apil sa targeted sector you have to cooperate sa registration aron maapil mo sa masterlist pero dili pasabot nga pugsun gyud mo og pavaccinne bisan dili mo ganahan. We need to correct the idea kay mao gyud na among na experience on the ground, ” he added.
Manatad last month said there were 140,000 individuals in the city that will be prioritized to receive the vaccine. They include frontliners and senior citizens. /rcg
