The distinguished alumni of the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu showcase their skills on the hardcourt as the Avenir Sacred Heart Ateneo Alumni Basketball Athletic Association (SHAABA) 19th basketball tournament comes off the wraps today at the SHS-AdC gym in Canduman, Mandaue City.

The competing teams has been divided into two divisions with nine squads participating in the elite Division A bannered by the defending champions Goldberry Iloilo Hotel. Division B, on the other hand, has six squads.

Goldberry remains as the team to beat with an already formidable roster that features the likes of many-time MVP winner Dave Lim, Dave Ting, Dennis Que and the Huang brothers, Jeremy and Justin. The team is bolstered by former pro Joel Co.

A slew of contenders are expected to stand in Goldberry’s way headed by the Cebu Landmasters who have in their fold, former Cesafi champion Moncrief Rogado; the Gaisano Capital who are now being led by former Cesafi juniors Rookie of the Year Arc Gabrielle Araw-Araw and the Insular Square Titans, whose youth brigade is being bannered by Ed Macasling, Jasper Diaz and Bradley Bacaltos.

The rest of the Division A teams are Batch 2014, Colours, RDAK Stallions, San Jose Bakeshop and the Beaver Sandals.

The teams competing in Division B are Shakey’s 94, Chick@Phil89, Belo Men 98, Echo Appliance, RDAK Transporter and White Gold Club 96.
