Couples nabbed in drug raid
An elderly couple was arrested after police found packs of suspected shabu in their house in barangay Media Once, Toledo City, Cebu.
Police said Marcelo Bastida Tria and his wife Dehlia, both 60 years old, were in the police watch list of suspected drug personalities, said SPO3 Basiliso Balicoco of the Toledo City Police Station.
Police said the couple was placed under surveillance for a month before their house was raided yesterday morning.
Operatives of the Toledo police headed by Insp. Jovito Labra served a search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court Judge Robin Altubar of Branch 29 in Toledo City.
Police said some residents reported the couple’s illegal drug activities.
Among those seized during the raid were three medium-sized and five sachets believed to contain shabu.
