Police arrested a man believed to be a gun-for-hire in barangay Poblacion, Alcoy after he allegedly tried to shoot a former cop and his brother last Thursday.
The suspect was identified as Jovan Romarate 41, of barangay Guiwang, Alcoy while his supposed victim was former PO1 Wilson delos Santos and his brother, Eduard.
Romarate allegedly entered the house of delos Santos and tried to shoot them but his gun misfired. He was arrested by responding cops from the Alcoy Police Station while he was on the road with his gun tucked in his waist.
Insp. Rodgene Fudotan, Alcoy’s police chief, said they will submit the gun for ballistic examination to determine if it was used in other shooting incidents.
