The beneficiaries of Kapwa Ko, Mahal Ko Foundation’s “Pangga-a Sab Ko” program gathered again for another support group activity at the Chateau de Busay in Cebu City last Dec. 13.
The 88 beneficiaries composed of 26 children with cancer who are undergoing chemotherapy treatment and 62 cancer survivors, accompanied by their parents, were treated to fun and entertainment.
This twice a year activity organized by the foundation is an avenue for the children to forget about the rigors and stress caused by their illness.
The cancer survivors from various parts of the Visayas and Mindanao got to play and reunite with their hospital buddies when they were still on chemotherapy and celebrated Christmas alongside with the children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a cancer of the blood.
Those children whose birthdays fall on the second half of the year got presents from Cebu City Councilor and foundation president Margot Osmeña, Kapwa board member Dr. Parolita Mission, Chateau de Busay’s operations manager Victor
Millora and owner Nonie Uy, who hosted the event.
“Pangga-a Sab Ko” is a medical and psychosocial program for children stricken with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Their chemotherapy runs for at least three years on a weekly to monthly basis.
