A couple was arrested in a buy-bust operation yesterday morning in barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.

Police seized an estimated 50 grams of white powder believed to be shabu with an estimated street value of more than P500,000 allegedly from Harley Jacaban, 29,  and his wife Josephine, 29.

The two allegedly conspired to sell drugs to a police decoy at 7 a.m. yesterday.

Supt. Rex Derilo, deputy chief of Regional Special Operation Group (RSOG) who led the operation, said the couple was under surveillance for two weeks.

Derilo described them as level 3 drug pushers who can dispose of more that 300 grams of shabu a week.

Police also seized P12,000 believed to be proceeds of the illegal drug business.

Derilo said their asset negotiated with Harley and they agreed to meet up. Harley allegedly sold two packs believed to contain shabu to the police decoy.

Derilo said Harley received the buy bust money and passed it to his wife.

When frisked police seized more packs of white crystalline powder believed to be shabu from the couple.

The couple, who has two daughters aged 9 and 6, admitted that they sell drugs but denied they are big time pushers.

In January last year, Harley was also arrested for drugs but was released after the case was dismissed.

Last Sinulog, the couple said three big packs of shabu were delivered to them and they sold these to their customers.

Derilo said based on their tactical interrogation, a certain Ken who is now detained at the New Bilibid Prison is their supplier and financier.

He added they remit their proceeds through money transfer.
