Vancere Toys, ACY Shipping still winless in Cecaba hoop
VICTORY remains elusive for Batch 1987/2000s-Vancere Toys and Batch 2006-1st ACY Shipping Corp./Cebu Regal Pension House after they succumbed to separate losses last Tuesday in the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association (Cecaba) 14th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup at the CEC Gym.
Batch 1987/2000s endured its fourth straight loss after bowing to Batch 1996-Blakeley’s Motorcare, 55-66, while Batch 2006 was dealt with its third consecutive defeat after losing to Batch 1986/90s/2000s, 46-61.
Rex Allinson scored 11 points and Franklin Ong had 10 for Batch ’96, which improved to 2-2 (win-loss). It was a balanced attack for Batch ’96 as Dreyfuss Ang, Allan Chua and Brian Patiño finished with at least seven points each for a combined 29 points.
Alfie Miranda Sy paced Batch 87/200s with 19 points, while Harold James Tan pitched in 14.
Sherwin So fired 27 points and Aljhune Areja nailed 18 markers as the duo carried Batch ’86/90s/2000s to its third win against a single defeat.
Jermaine Nuñez spearheaded Batch 2006 with 12 points, while Donn Lim chipped in 10.
