Cebu Doctors’ University Hospital (CDUH) now offers the newest innovation in the radiography technology that rolls clarity, precision and ease of patients’ medical information storage in one. Last February 20, the hospital launched its Digital Radiography (DR) facility, the first installation of high-end digital X-ray technology in Cebu and in the country.
Cebuanos are privileged to be the first market in the country to experience the most advanced diagnostic system at a reasonable price. With the newest and direct DR facility manufactured by Samsung, X-ray procedures become faster and more reliable because soon as the patient undergoes the X-ray scanning, the resulting digital image directly appears from the radiographer’s work station in the fastest turn-around time of three seconds. With the use of the machine’s advanced S-Detector, a clear and vivid image of a patient’s anatomical structure is displayed thus preventing misdiagnosis from occurring. The detector also lowers the radiation dose for radiographers and patients.
Dr. Troy Uy, general manager of the exclusive distributor of the facility in Cebu namely Marpont Enterprises and Bullseye Solutions said that the digitalized radiography allows easy exchange of a patient’s medical records among doctors from any part of the island which makes patient record-keeping and tracking more convenient.
While Cebu is blazing the trail for digital radiography in the country, Uy said that the facility can be installed and made available in other islands in the country especially in the remote areas with the help of the Department of Health (DOH)
