Alqueza bags seat for SUGBU Bowler of the Month tourney

Sugbuanon Bowlers United (SUGBU) president Edgar “Egay” Alqueza clinched a spot in the “Bowler of the Month” tournament after he topped last Sunday’s SUGBU Bowling Shootout Tournament at the SM Seaside City Cebu Bowling Center.
Alqueza, who is usually seen supervising SUGBU tournaments on the sideline, flexed his winning form by scoring 894 total pinfalls after four games.
It was a fitting win for Alqueza, who is a certified United States Bowling Congress (USBC) silver international coach in the country, just behind the lone Asian certified USBC-gold international coach Paeng Nepomuceno.
He will serve as one of the reserves for the monthly tournament slated on September 17, 2023, along with the 16 qualified bowlers.
Meanwhile, former shootout tournament champion Rommel Calipay placed second with 811 total pinfalls, while Joma Avila completed the top three keglers of the tournament with his 801-pinfall performance.
