A 42-year-old Indian national who is engaged in money lending was shot dead while driving home Monday night in barangay Pajac, Lapu-Lapu City.
Jaswinder Singh Gill died of gunshot wounds in his back and head.
He left behind two children and a Filipina wife.
Police found three empty shells and one slug of a .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.
No witnesses stepped forward.
A few minutes before the violence, Gill was seen at a store collecting a debt from his clients.
A few minutes after he left on board a motorcycle, the backrider of another motorcycle that was tailing him shot him.
Gill fell to the ground with his motorcycle and the gunman finished him off.
His wife Marites, said that before the shooting, her husband called her saying he would be home in a few minutes.
She told the police her husband had a client who owed him almost P500,000.
She said they had an argument once because of the debts.
Gill has been in the lending business for year. The Indian had lived in Cebu for 11 years.
