Cherry Andrin and Prince Joey Lee reigned supreme in yesterday’s 12-kilometer race of the R399: Live Your Dreams tribute running event held at the Sumilon Road of the Cebu Business Park.
Andrin clocked 56 minutes and 26 seconds to top the distaff side while Lee ruled the men’s side with the time 41:09.
Andrin’s closest pursuer was Sarah Lee Cuizon at second place with a time of 59:23 and Jinggay Lugay who finished third, clocking 1:00.44.
Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines Filipino elite second-placer John Philip Dueñas clocked 42:17 to finish second in the men’s side while Riez Enriquez placed third with a time of 43:47 time.
The running event was marred by tragedy when 52-year-old Canadian Anthony Dean Borg collapsed in the middle of his 12k run and pronounced dead in the hospital later on.

In the 6k distance, Andrin’s younger sister Cherry emerged the fastest runner, crossing the finish line in 59:23. John Cliff Debolusan topped the male category with a time of 20:28.
Second to Andrin was Karla Cosep (27:39) while Singapore International Triathlon junior division silver medalist Aaliyah Mataragnon placed third with a time of 27:49.
John Balaga (22:00) and Ramie Lawas (23:41) were second and third-placers, respectively, in the men’s race.
Angeline Potot and Ernesto Villarba topped the 3k race with times of 11:18 and 08:52, respectively.
The running event is a yearly tribute to Ramon Igaña, who passed away while competing in the 2012 Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.
