Games today:
Cebu Coliseum
1 p.m. – USC vs UV (Jrs.)
2:30 p.m. – SHS-AdC vs UC (Jrs.)
4 p.m. – UC vs SWU (Srs.)
5:30 p.m. – CIT-U vs USPF (Srs.)

The two-time defending champions Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) Magis Eagles will try to assure themselves of a spot at a place they’re all too familiar with while the University of Cebu (UC) Baby Webmasters seek to make it back to the place they last saw seven years ago as the semifinals in the juniors division go full swing today in the 15th Cesafi basketball tournament at the Cebu Coliseum.

SHS-AdC and UC clash in a match-up that will see the winner virtually assure themselves of a place in the championship round.

The two teams already have a win tucked under their belts with the Magis Eagles destroying the University of the Visayas, 69-45, and the Baby Webmasters stunning the University of San Carlos Baby Warriors, 76-66.

The Magis Eagles have made it to the finals in each of the last four seasons while the Baby Webmasters last made it to the finals in 2008 when they won over UV, 3-2.

UV and USC face off in the other semifinal game in the juniors division today. The top two teams at the end of the round-robin semis will advance to the best-of-three finals series.

The seniors division will also see games with playoff implications as UC takes on the defending titleholder Southwestern University Cobras while the Cebu Institute of Technology-University Wildcats battle the winless University of Southern Philippines Foundation Panthers.

At 3-6, the Webmasters are within striking distance of fourth place and the last ticket to the semis. But standing in front of them are the Cobras, a team bent on making up for their lackluster effort that led to a 63-68 defeat at the hands of the University of San Jose-Recoletos Jaguars, a loss that dropped their record to 7-3.

The Wildcats on the other hand, hope to brighten up their chances of advancing to the next round against a Panthers side that has not won a single game this season in 10 tries. At 4-7, the Wildcats are standing right behind the fourth-place Jaguars who hold a 4-6 card.
