At least a thousand Cebu City residents are expected to be at the Commission on Election’s off-site registration center in Robinson’s Cybergate mall near  Fuente Osmeña and beat the voter’s registration deadline today.

Lawyer Marchel Sarno, Cebu City North District election officer,  encouraged  registrants to be early at the off-site center.

Priority numbers  will be handed out as early as 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

“Kinahanglan mosayo sila. Dili pa mag-open ang mall, mag-distribute na mi og numbers. 1000 ka priority numbers atong ihatag (They have to come early because we will start distributing 1,000 priority numbers before the mall opens),” said Sarno, who is also the spokesman of the Cebu City Comelec.

He said he hopes  the Comelec can accommodate more than 1,000 registrants or at least 1,200 which they accomplished in their 4-day Ayala Center off-site registration.

The center registered more than 4,000 voters.

Sarno said that today will be the last day of registration for voters.

There will be no extension since  there is no order from the Comelec Central Office in Manila.

Today the registration for Cebu City residents at the Robinson’s Cybergate will start at 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
