Mandaue mall eyeing more dev’ts, innovations
Parkmall Cebu is looking into more internal developments over the next two years.
“We are constantly looking to innovate and improve. Currently, we are looking at strengthening the existing space that we have,” said general manager Neal Carlson Co, during the launching of its newest atrium and indoor park.
The decision to innovate was reached in tandem with other developments popping up in the area, such as two new hospitals.
Co said that with the big new developments, the lifestyle and behavior of the community will change.
Part of the mall’s strategic developments is to be able to cater to that change in lifestyle.
The mall’s plan include additional food outlets and the expansion of the mall’s west wing developments.
Parkmall will further develop its terminal, adding more food and retail choices.
In the next two years, the mall is also planning to add 30 to 40 more tenants.
“We are expecting new brands and surplus shoes to come in in the next few months. There will be another national brand and several local brands as well,” Co added.
He said that the management is trying to a create a balance between the two, with the national brands providing strength in branding and the local brands adding authenticity and local flavor to the mall.
While they are in discussions with several international brands, none has signed on yet.
Parkmall is also looking to increase the number of its indoor parks, starting with the atrium that was launched last Saturday.
“It will always be our thrust at Parkmall — lots of green spaces, lots of open spaces both indoor and outdoor, these create our identity,” Co said.
After the atrium launch, Parkmall’s ‘next big thing’ is its 36-hour sale from November 14 to 15. The mall will also be introducing a new promo, inspired by Japan’s “fubukuro.”
Customers can buy bags of items sold at a certain price from select stores in the mall. However, the catch is that the value of the items inside will be at least double the amount paid for by the customers.
This promo is the first of its kind in the Philippines.
