ALA Gym fighter keeps unbeaten streak intact
Arjan “Spartan” Canillas gave his hometown fans something to be happy this Holiday Season after he scored a scintillating third round knockout victory against Eusebio “Raging Bull” Baluarte last Friday night in the main event of “Duelo sa Toledo” which was co-hosted by ALA Boxing Gym and the local government of Toledo City in southwest Cebu.
The 22-year old Canillas improved his record to 13 wins with 10 knockouts and two draws.
Both fighters tried to seize each other in the opening two rounds before Canillas made his move in the third, sending Baluarte to the floor writhing in pain with a well-timed uppercut to the bread basket.
Baluarte’s end came with one minute and 14 seconds left in the third round of their 10-round non title showdown.
The Marcelo Barba Sports Complex erupted in celebration when Baluarte fell and failed to beat the referee’s count. The 29-year old Valencia, Bukidnon slugger suffered his 14th loss. He has 19 wins adorned with 12 knockouts.
