ALTHOUGH they lost in the semifinals, the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles still had something to celebrate after forward Eroll Pastor was named to the NBTC Division 1 Mythical Five during the tournament’s final day yesterday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Pastor was a revelation for the Cebu-based squad as he scored and rebounded at will despite standing a shade under six-feet. He was particularly dominant during their 75-86 loss to the San Beda Red Cubs in the semifinals as he scored 22 points and grabbed 25 rebounds.
He was joined in the elite team by National University’s Justine Baltazar and John Lloyd Clemente and San Beda’s Evan Nelle and Sam Abuhijle.
Meanwhile, NU solidified their reputation as the best high school basketball team in all the land after they creamed the San Beda Red Cubs, 84-74, in the finals.
Clemente led the way for NU with 20 points while Baltazar, all 6-foot-7 of him, had 12 points and 14 rebounds.
The Division 2 title was captured by La Salle-Lipa after a thrilling 62-60 win over the Rex Dei Academy.
