THE Tu Es Petrus Tour of Papal Relics are now in Cebu for public viewing.

The relics and memorabilia of the Popes from St. Peter the Apostle to Pope Francis are currently on display in SM City Consolacion.

Petrus is a Latin derivation of  Peter, one of the Twelve Apostles and the first pope,    and refers to all of his  successors in the Catholic Church.

These relics include not only the mortal remains of the popes who visited the country, but also some the items they touched.

The Tour of Papal relics also showcases historical and sacred collections of liturgical vessels used during papal masses, stoles used by the various Popes and concelebrating priests during masses and special occasions and other things or belongings used by St. John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis, among others.

The relics of the particles of bones of all canonized popes were also displayed in the exhibit area including the Missalette for the beatification and canonization of St. John Paul II, canonization medals of St. John XXIII and St. John Paul II, Missal during St. John Paul II’s papal mass and the stoles of concelebrating priests during the beatification of Lorenzo Ruiz in 1981.

The exhibit is ongoing until April 10 at the second level of SM City Consolacion. The Papal Relics will be on display at the Northwing hallway of SM City Cebu from April 11 to 24. On April 25 to May 10, the relics may be viewed  at the upper ground level, City Wing, of SM Seaside City Cebu.
