ASSA ABLOY, the total door opening solutions company, in partnership with exclusive distributor Cebu Oversea Hardware Co., Inc. present Cebuanos with innovative door lock technologies.
ASSA ABLOY is now being launched as a brand for door hardware for commercial applications. They offer mechanical products such as locksets, mortise locks, lever handles, door closers, panic exit devices, hinges, glass door fittings, floor springs, and pull handles, among others.
Camilo Umlas, the general manager for ASSA ABLOY strategic business unit in the Philippines, said in a presscon held at the Cebu City Marriott Hotel on April 15, that their line of products are still relatively new, and only a minority know that these products already exist.
One such product is the Yale YDM 4109 digital door lock, which is ASSA ABLOY’s flagship product. It features biometric fingerprint access and smart touchpad for pin code access, automatic locking, intrusion and security alarms for when someone tries to pick the lock, and their latest model is also smartphone- and home automation-ready.
They also offer other innovative products such as Aperio, which is designed to complement new and existing electronic access control systems, providing users with simple and intelligent ways to upgrade the controllability and security of their premises, without the expenses of wiring. Cliq, a key to an electro-mechanical locking and access control system has an audit trail feature which records dates, time and number of times a lock was accessed.
“While we have superior and sophisticated products,” said Umlas, “the challenge is to bring it to the market.” Last December, ASSA ABLOY entered into a partnership with Cebu Oversea Hardware Co., Inc. and its sister company Cebu Home & Builders. The former local company is the exclusive distributor of ASSA ABLOY products in Cebu, while the latter will be using these products in their hotel and condominium infrastructure projects. Cebu Oversea Hardware promises after-sales services for servicing and warranty of ASSA ABLOY products.
ASSA ABLOY has made it to the list of Forbes Top 100 Most Innovative Companies for two consecutive years in 2013 and 2014, even surpassing Apple at one time.
