The Cebu City Council has approved P5.8 billion annual budget for 2016 in a special session held Tuesday afternoon.

This is P200 million lesser than the second revised P6 billion budget proposed by the Acting Cebu City Mayor Margarita Osmeña.

One of the appropriations that the four man council, dominated by Team Rama, took out was the P2 million for the furnitures and office renovations for the office of the incoming mayor Tomas Osmeña.

When asked why they took out the P2 million appropriation, Councilor James Anthony Cuenco says it’s “unnecessary.”
