THREE suspected drug pushers were killed in separate police operations in the cities of Naga and Danao.
In Naga City, suspect Peter Montebon died in what police described as a shootout. The incident happened last Sunday at 10:57 p.m. when the police served the arrest warrant against Montebon, who was listed as number four in the Most Wanted Persons List of the Naga City Police Station.
Supt. John Clark said Montebon opened fire at the approaching policemen in his residence in Barangay Tinaan. This resulted in a shootout. Montebon suffered gunshot wound on his chest causing his death.
Recovered from Montebon’s possession was a .38 revolver, while 21 small packs of alleged shabu weighing 1.56 grams with an estimated value of P17,510 and drug paraphernalia were recovered from his live-in partner Lea Cabungcal, who was temporarily detained at the Naga City Police Station.
In Danao City, suspected drug pusher Marcos Mansueto was killed in a shootout with policemen during a buy-bust operation yesterday at 12:23 a.m. in Sitio Taboc, Barangay Looc.
Mansueto was declared dead at the Danao Provincial Hospital.
PO3 Arnold Labine, desk officer of Danao City Police Station, said the suspect ran towards a dark portion outside his house after sensing that he was transacting with a police poseur-buyer. Police urged Mansueto to surrender but he fired at them, prompting the police to fire back at Mansueto, causing his death.
Recovered from Mansueto, who was in the police’s drug watch list, were a .357 revolver, two large packs, two medium packs, and one small pack of alleged shabu worth around P96,000.
Meanwhile, a 25-year-old man was also gunned down by two unidentified persons riding a motorcycle around 3 a.m. yesterday in Sitio Camalig Bato, Barangay Taboc, also in Danao City.
Victim Marino Jaime of Barangay Poblacion sustained a gunshot wound in the head, while his companion John Dexter Drome, 17, of Barangay Guinsay, suffered injuries in both legs.
The assailants allegedly left a bond paper with a message “pusher ako wag tularan.”
