A suspected drug pusher who refused to surrender through the Oplan Tukhang of the Philippine National Police was gunned down by unidentified riding-in-tandem men in Barangay Binabag, Consolacion town, northern Cebu last Sunday.

Dario Abucay Achay, 50, died from a gunshot wound in the head.

The victim was on his way to his house when waylaid by unknown assailants.

It was the second drug-related incident in the town.

The first incident happened the other week in Barangay Cansaga where the body of a certain Ringo Rodrigo was found with a message written on the paper “traydor sigeg sumbong sa polis.”

PO1 Cresencio Saladaga of Consolacion police said in last Sunday’s incident, the assailants did not leave a message as they hurriedly fled towards Mandaue City.

Saladaga said Achay belonged in their drug watch list. He said Achay was already advised by a barangay official to surrender but he refused.
