Team Cebu logs 1-2 finish in FM2 class of Philippine Endurance Challenge 2016

Team Cebu once again brought home the bacon in motorsports as they authored a 1-2 finish in the FM2 class of the 2016 GT Radial x Philippine Endurance Challenge (8 Oras ng Pilipinas) last weekend at the Clark International Speedway.

Team Cebu’s Toyota Vios, which was driven by Lord Seno, Bobby Pangilinan, Oscar Suarez and Mark Laxa came away as the winner as it finished 172 laps in the eight-hour endurance race. The team’s other entry, a Honda Civic that was prepared by MR Auto/Power House Auto from Manila and driven by the team of Clive Fermin, Rei Aleman, Jun Cabrera, Ace San Agustin and Norris See, came in second with 171 laps.

“It was really tiring,” said Seno in a talk with Cebu Daily News. “But Team Cebu is particularly proud of this. This is the first time we joined the event.”

The Philippine Endurance Challenge attracted some of the best teams in the country in an eight-hour non-stop race where the team that completes the most laps during the said amount of time will be declared as the winner.

Each team consisted of two to six drivers, a pit crew, and a machine that could last 480 minutes of competition rain or shine.

There were four different categories: the RP Class for full-blown race cars, FM-1 for road cars with more than 150 whp, FM-2 for cars with less than 150 whp, and the Manufacturer’s Cup for showroom stock cars.

Team Cebu’s grid consisted of 30 cars, 14 of which were in their category.
