Operators oppose transfer of bus terminal

THE president of Cebu South Mini Bus Operators Association (CSMBOA) expressed opposition to the planned transfer of the Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) to South Road Properties (SRP).

Julito Flores said the transfer would affect their operations as well as the commuters as SRP is far from the heart of the city.

During the meeting of south bus operators yesterday morning, Governor Hilario Davide III said that there were plans to transfer the CSBT to the SRP once the 93-1 land swap deal with the Cebu City government is finalized.

Part of the deal is that the city will give a 2.5-hectare lot in SRP, a 9-hectare lot in Pulpogan, Consolacion, and the Cebu City Zoo in Barangay Kalunasan.
