WHO doesn’t love eating burgers? For sisters and young entrepreneurs Raye Agnese and Ruth Ann Lim, burgers are for everyone, regardless of age, gender, and economic class.

“We wanted an area or a store that can cater to everyone,” Ruth Ann said as she glances over their burger outlet along a busy street in Guadalupe.

The Lim sisters, manage and own two Minute Burger outlets: one along F. Llamas road and one in Guadalupe. Minute Burger Guadalupe is just one of the few stores in Cebu which has a dine-in area, so customers get to enjoy their burgers fresh from the pan.

For Raye Agnese and Ruth Ann, having their own business franchise in their 20s is not hard but rather an opportunity for them to grow together.

First-time franchisees
As first-time franchisees, they were not afraid to take the risk at a young age. For the sisters, it is a good thing to take the risk while they are still young and capable. “At least we have maximized our time,” said Raye Agnese.

“People of all ages eat burgers,” Ruth Ann said when asked why they chose to franchise Minute Burger. After a thorough research on the company and recommendations from their mom, the sisters finally decided to franchise. Minute Burger is under Leslie Corporation. Leslie Corporation is one of the leading snack companies in the Philippines since 1972.

One of the factors that made the sisters franchise with Minute Burger is that it has a wide array of choices on the menu including burgers with variants such as Bacon Cheese, Black Pepper, Crispy Chicken and Beef Pizza all with Brioche buns. Aside from these, the burger outlet also has seasonal food items, just like their Taro Smoothie which was released in April this year, just in time for summer.

With its recent opening in January 2017, Minute Burger Guadalupe now caters to approximately 300 customers in a day, with their Premium Burgers as their best-selling food item. “It’s affordable and at the same time, it has a lot of ingredients inside. It’s a value-for-money burger,” Ruth Ann said.

Meanwhile, the sisters must admit that customers are at their peak during night time. “We Filipinos typically want something that we can easily grab and munch on. And burgers are not an exemption as midnight snacks,” Ruth Ann said. Both burger places in F.Llamas and Guadalupe are open for 24 hours.

Aside from the dine-in customers, the sisters also cater to bulk orders online. “We managed to put up a Facebook page since everyone is into social media,” Raye Agnese noted. For inquiries and orders, you may like their Facebook page @MBguadalupe.

Minute Burger currently has 11 stores in Cebu. It will soon open a store in Bohol this September.
