UC, UV settle for draw in first day of Cesafi football tourney

FORMER collegiate champions University of Cebu (UC) and University of the Visayas (UV) played to a 3-3 draw in the opening day of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) football tournament yesterday at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Each team earned one point for the draw.

Scorers for UC were Ron Tiampong, Harvey Dungog and Rustom Seares.

UV got two goals from John Vargas and one from Rolan Pacama.

In the secondary division, the University of Southern Philippines-Foundation (USPF) Kicking Panthers stunned University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Kicking Jaguars, 8-1.

Homer Alojacir and McDale Uy led USPF with two goals each.

Joshua Lubiano, Cyprian Estopaci, Alexis Limboy and Ed Xavier Batayo each scored a goal to help USPF chalk up the one-sided win.

In the other secondary division match, former champions Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves silenced University of San Carlos-Basic Education (USC-BED), 4-0.
