Cebu City’s Hope program to kick off next week

By: Intern September 15,2017 - 10:57 PM

Cebu City hotels will distribute toiletries and mattresses to patients of the Cebu City Medical Centers and students from public schools starting next week.

The distribution of toiletries is part of the Hotels Outreach Program for the Environment (Hope) which is a partnership of the city government and the private sector.

Mayor Tomas Osmeña launched the Hope project in August to create a venue where government and the private sector can work together to promote social responsibility in the community and for the environment.

Under the project, the 28 participating hotels are encouraged to donate their used or unused toiletries, mattresses, linens, blankets and towels to selected public schools, public hospitals and social service centers in the city. The beneficiaries include Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) and the Parian Drop-in Center. /Kristine Q. Remolisan USJ-R Journalism intern
