SM Supermalls nationwide through the SM Cares Environment Committee will join the entire nation in celebrating Earth Day on April 22.
The Earth Day celebration in SM City Cebu will highlight an environmental exhibit by the Youth for a Livable Cebu, a group of young professionals advocating sustainable lifestyles. The group has been coordinating with commercial establishments in ensuring proper solid waste management. The exhibit will be held at the covered parking area and will feature fashionable works made of recyclable materials.
An informative discussion of Liter of Light will happen on April 22 at 1:30 p.m. at the Event Centre of SM City Consolacion. The Liter of Light or Isang Litrong Liwanag project of My Shelter Foundation brings the eco-friendly bottle light to communities without electricity.
The public is also invited to join the Trash for Cash from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the covered parking of SM City Cebu, and at the open parking in SM City Consolacion. Trash to Cash accepts plastic and pet bottles, tin and aluminum cans, books, newspapers, furniture made of wood, metal cookware and kitchen items.
