The Rotary Club of Cebu Port Center will hold a free surgical mission for patients with cleft lip and cleft palate at the Adventist Hospital (formerly Miller Hospital) on Oct. 7 to 16.

The surgical repair of cleft lip and cleft palate will be done by American surgeons, anesthesiologists and other foreign paramedical volunteers.

This endeavor is spearheaded by past district governor Anton Florendo.

Earlier, the club also organized a medical mission in barangay Caretta, Cebu City last Sept. 12. More than  200 senior citizens availed of free medical services, such as medical consultation, body mass index determination, random blood sugar testing, neuropathy detection and blood pressure monitoring. The patients were also given free medicines.

Six volunteer doctors, assisted by 17 rotarians, participated in the medical mission, and was spearheaded by club president Dr. Jose Unabia, in cooperation with barangay captain Eduardo Lauron.
