CEBUANO Chad Connor Cuizon rebounded from an early elimination in the 12-under boys category as he rolled past Von Harvy Laniog 4-1, 4-2 to advance to the 10-unisex championship round of Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala regional tennis tournament in Maasin City, Leyte.
Cuizon was coming off a 1-6, 3-6 loss to Cymer James Casim in the second round of the 12-under boys event before bouncing back against Laniog.
In the 10-unisex final, Cuizon will face Aaesha Bandalan, who disposed of Christian Angus, 4-0, 4-1, in their semifinal match.
Also putting up solid performances for Cebu were Francis Hidalgo and Norman Joseph Enriquez.
Hidalgo earned two quarterfinal seats after blasting Pat Joaquin Mejia, 6-1, 6-0, and Allan Gomez Jr., 6-1, 6-0, in the 18-under and 16-under boys competitions, respectively.
Enriquez survived a hard-fought game against Josshua Torres, 7-6 (3), 6-1, to book his own quarterfinal berth.
