Incumbent League of Municipalities of the Philippines Cebu Chapter president Tuburan Mayor Democrito Diamante retains seat after being unopposed during Friday afternoon’s election.
Diamante was nominated by Consolacion Mayor Teresa Alegado. Even without an opponent, the mayors decided to proceed with voting through viva vochè or secret balloting.
He was voted by the majority of 38 mayors present during the election.
When asked about his plans, he said that he will continue with what he has already started which is to unite all 44 towns of Cebu regardless of political party./USJ-R Intern Dafne Wenceslao
