A cargo vessel remains docked in a municipal sanctuary in barangay Poblacion, Liloan, Cebu since last night due to bad weather.

Agapito Bibat, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Cebu Station Commander, asked the Liloan municipal government for a joint assessment to identify the extent of damage in the sanctuary.

“They are cleared now from PCG as sea worthy. They have documents but they still have to face if there are damages on the sanctuary,” Bibat said. The cargo vessel was identified as LCT Nicia of Asian Shipping Corp.

The ship captain identified as Berlin Edep has eight crew on board. The vessel came from Ormoc and unloaded sand in Camotes. It was headed to Naga to deliver cement.
