A drug suspect was killed in a shootout with police at his home in Barangay Tumonoy, Moalboal town at past 6 am Monday.
Michael Aquino is wanted by police for killing two police officers during a 2014 raid.
Aquino went into hiding but he was sighted by Moalboal police in their area a week ago. Senior Insp. Narciso Abapo of the Moalboal police said Aquino was spotted in the company of armed men.
Armed with a warrant issued by Barili Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 60 judge Leopoldo Cañete, policemen stormed Aquino’s home, who noticed their presence and fired at them.
Recovered from Aquino’s home were one loaded pistol, three medium packs and 38 small sachets filled with shabu estimated to cost P144,000.
