GILBUENA FINISHES 2ND ANEW

IT’S DEJA VU all over again for Cebuana duathlete Miscelle Gilbuena, who ended up second to teammate Mirasol Abad in the women’s elite division of the National Duathlon Championships (NDC) – Race For Iloilo River yesterday in Iloilo City.

The Bantayan, Cebu-native Gilbuena, who also finished second to Abad in the same tournament last year in Cebu, timed two hours, 23 minutes and 36 seconds, just 49 seconds behind Abad (2:22:47). In the men’s elite division, Cebuano Joland Olmilla achieved his goal of winding up in the top five as he finished third at two hours, four minutes and 59 seconds.

Jarwyn Banatao (2:00:17) finished first followed by Emmanuel Comendador (2:04:28)./
