Lexmark escapes ePerformax to tighten hold of top spot in E-League

THE LEXMARK Stallions picked up their sixth win in seven games by edging out the ePerformax Reds, 66–64, last Saturday in the Elite Classic of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball at the CSC-C Gym.

Sylvester Millevo scored 15 points and Franco Angelo Cipriano piled up 13 markers and 11 rebounds as the help the Stallions tighten their hold of the one spot in the team standings.

Ersom Cuizon finished with 18 points, Robert Gilo tallied 17 markers, 15 rebounds, three blocks and two assists while Nolan dela Peña had 11 markers in losing efforts as the Reds to 5–3 (win-loss).

In the EVO League, the Kyocera Frontiers chalked up another big win by blasting the Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 69–57, the United Health Cobras prevailed over the Atos Falcons, 75–56, while the Blue Ocean Pirates nipped the Teletech Titans, 64–61.

Coming off a 60–49 win over the former unbeaten Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties, the Frontiers sealed their sixth win in eight matches behind Ariel Ramonito Edera, who wound up with 24 points, 11 rebounds, seven assists, four steals and a block.

Gerardo Carlos Roderico Tan and Junrey Cabarrubias chipped in 17 and 12 markers, respectively.

Jose Paolo Diputado, Antonio Nocos Jr. and Jonas Panerio all scored in double figures to combine for 43 points, but ASI still absorbed its fifth defeat in nine outings.
Improving to 3–6 were the Cobras, who got 16, 12 and 10 points from Gregory Castro, Joseph Juariza and Juan Paolo Beltran, respectively.

Reymund Ardiente fired 24 points, while Marc Louis Obando and Bon Sarmiento connived for 21 in the Falcons’ ninth loss in as many games.

Paul Rowell Amit and Christopher Brian Colmenares, on the other hand, combined for 35 for the Pirates, who climbed to 3–6.

Teletech, which fell to 0–9, was led by the 25 points of Perry Niones.
