MANILA-BASED AffiniTea Race will bring its bubble run concept to Cebu on Nov. 27 with an event dubbed Raise D’ Roof Bubble Run.

The fun run is set to start and end at The Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.

Organizer Mark Anthony Liu, the president of AffiniTea Race, has already staged several editions of this running event in Manila.

Its main goal is to raise funds for a foundation it will help. For this race, they chose the Missionaries of Charities of Saint Teresa of Calcutta-Home of the Abandoned and Malnourished Street Children of Cebu City as its beneficiary.

The race will feature a 5k distance whose route will be within the Cebu Business Park.

“We started in 2013 in Manila and only 10 percent of the entire numbers of participants are purely runners. The rest were families, friends and officemates because this is purely a fun run. But we will be giving out special awards during the run,” Liu said.
Making the race different from others is the bubble concept, wherein runners will be showered with bubbles during the race.

Organizers are expecting 1,500 to 2,000 runners to join.

Registration started yesterday at the Mizuno in Ayala Center Cebu and Mizuno of SM Seaside City Cebu. Registration fee is pegged at P600.

Online registration can also be done at www.affinitea.com.
