Lapu’s Top 25 taxpayers cited

A GLITTERING awards night with a concept of “Old Hollywood” greeted the top 25 taxpayers in Lapu-Lapu City at the Hoops Dome.

The unbeatable for the ninth time, Hall of Famer Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort and Spa was given the “Datu Lapu-Lapu Award” by Mayor Paz Radaza and Vice Mayor Marcial Ycong.

All the other top taxpayers were also given the Datu Lapu-Lapu Award.

The top 25 taxpayers for 2016 are JPark Island Resort and Waterpark Cebu, LEAR Automotive Phils. Inc., General Milling Corporation, Fairchild Semiconductor (Phils.) Hongkong, Taiyo Yuden (Phils.) Corp., Muramoto Audio-Visual Phils. Inc., Advent Energy Inc., Taipan Development Inc. (Gaisano Island Mall Mactan), Oikonomos Int’l.
Resources Corporation (Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu), Super Metro Gaisano Lapu-Lapu, Megaworld Corporation, Far East Noble House Inc. (Gaisano Grand Mall Mactan), Plantation Bay Holdings Corporation/Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, MSY Holdings Inc./MCF Property Ventures Corp., SEASCAPES Resort Inc., Funai Electric Cebu Inc., Timex Philippines Inc., Waterfront Airport Hotel & Casino Inc. (Mactan), Filinvest Group of Companies, Robinsons Land Corp., Prohomes Development Inc., Freemont Food Corp. – Jolibee, MSM Cebu Inc., Yamashin Cebu Filter Mfg. Corp. and Aboitiz Land Inc.

All the top 25 corporate taxpayers were welcomed through the “Walk of Fame,” where each one of them has its own star with their company names printed.

Mayor Radaza said the selection of the top 25 was based on the amount of tax, the right and exact process and paying on the right time.

“I thanked (sic) all of the city’s taxpayers for working with us and helping the city through their taxes,” said Radaza.
