Cebu City Councilor Dave Tumulak is proposing the grant of P4, 000 in monthly allowance to reservists and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) who are rendering service to the city.

Tumulak said he wanted the allowance to be especially given to Philippine Marines and other military personnel who help patrol the city streets to ensure the safety of Cebuanos.

“They augment our security force and they are force multipliers at the same time,” he said.

But he clarified that his proposal is still subject to the approval of Mayor Tomas Osmeña.

If approved by the mayor, an allocation for the purpose will be included in the 2017 budget proposal that the executive department will soon submit to the city council for approval.#
