HIGHER-SEEDED teams prevailed over their twice-to-win lower-ranked foes at the start of the quarterfinal round of the 12th City Sports Club-Cebu (CSC-C) E-League for Basketball last Saturday at the CSC-C Gym.

In the Elite Classic, the number one seed Lexmark Stallions barged into the semifinal round by beating the eighth-ranked Wipro Tigers, 71–67, while the defending champions Convergys Converters, seeded number two, earned their own Final Four berth by dumping the seventh-ranked Telstra Boomerangs, 79–63.

Sylvester Millevo showed the way for the Stallions by delivering 26 points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Jan Oneil Sahilan backed Millevo with 11 markers, five steals, four assists and a rebound.

Brian Deodoro and Reinario Salibay led the eliminated Tigers with 11 and 10 points, respectively.

On the other hand, Franz Dysam announced his return from a knee injury with a bang as he powered Convergys with his 16 points, six assists, three boards and one steal.

Lourenz Limpangog added 14 points, while Franz’s brother Kenneth chipped in 13 markers.

Jasper Christian Diaz led the Boomerangs with 17 points, while Jaygard Vios donated 13.

In the EVO League, top seeds Supportsave Dragons nipped the eighth-ranked Author Solutions Inc. (ASI) Hardbacks, 71–67, while second-ranked Tech Mahindra Tech Mighties likewise advanced to the semifinals with a 68–64 win over the number seven seed, The Results Spartans.

Niño Belande, a consistent double-digit scorer, was held down to just nine points, but Germaine Jo Guarisma more than made up for the former’s offensive woes as he led the Dragons with 24 points.

Justin Marie Mier contributed 13 points and Justine Carlo Gabest added 10 for Supportsave, who has yet to lose a single game this season. Supportsave finished the elimination round with a perfect 11-0 (win-loss) card.

Benjam Anthony Mosquera topped the Hardbacks with 11 points.
EJ Saavedra led the Tech Mighties with 15 points, while Robert Rebaño and Kenneth Yodj Garcia produced 11 markers apiece.

Jade Seno exploded for 29 markers, while Jonathan Mangabat added 15 for the Spartans.
