Parkmall hosts Cebu’s first Fitness Race Challenge

PARKMALL continues to pioneer health and well-being as it successfully held Cebu’s First Fitness Challenge last Sept. 25 at their Piazza Rotunda.

The Parkmall Fitness Race Challenge is an obstacle race that tests the participants’ stamina, agility, strength and speed. The event was a joint effort between Parkmall and Holiday Gym and Spa who strategized and provided the blueprint for the fifteen stations of the race. The challenge was also made possible by Pocari Sweat, Dimsum Break, ALA Gym and Extreme Aeropark.

Sixteen groups of five active members registered for the challenge. Prior to the day of the competition, the groups were also encouraged to be creative with their singlets as an award was to be given to the group with the best team uniform.

The challenge stations were located all around the mall. Each one consisted of different exercises, such as tire flips, push-ups, bear crawl, burpees, hand and crab walks, box jumps, battle rope, pull-ups, and wall climbing. It was not just a challenge of being able to perform all these exercises as it was also a challenge of how well the participants could navigate around the mall and how fast they are able to do so.

Among the sixteen groups, The Fit and Fab Pole Fitness team achieved the fastest record of 1 hour, 10 minutes and 59 seconds. The team is this year’s champions with members Julifer Ponder, Agust Lee Lañojan, Niño Rio Saoy, Reyme Ann Somada, and Reymund Ilostrisimo working as fitness instructors at the Fit and Fab Pole Fitness Studio.

The Flow Genesis p team, who nabbed the second place, closed the challenge with a race time of 1:20:1. They were closely followed by the K1 Flying Kangaroos whose time was 1:22:8.
The team that was given the award of Best Team Uniform was Team Yokoks.
