DORMAKABA extended their incredible winning streak to nine games as they thwarted the upset-conscious Davies Paints, 77-72, in the Architects + Engineers Basketball Association 2016 Corporate Cup on Sunday at the Cebu Eastern College gym.

Playing at full strength for the first time in several games, Dormakaba got splendid performances from former league MVP Ed Macasling and the frontcourt of Jordan Alano, Niel Benedicto and Jessie Paradero who calmly hit a clutch three-pointer as the shot clock was expiring that helped seal the win for Dorma.

Macasling scored 20 points, grabbed nine rebounds, issued three assists on top of a steal and a block while Alano, Dorma’s 6-foot-4 sentinel, added a double-double of 11 markers and 11 rebounds. Benedicto and Paradero finished with 10 apiece.

Mike Cinco paced Davies with 24 points but it wasn’t enough as they found themselves in a three-way tie for second place with Megabond and Sea Olympus. All three hold identical 5-4 win-loss cards with just one more game left in the elimination round.

Megabond defeated Fenestram, 77-65, behind the efforts of Gerald Jayme and Martin Tabones who had 24 and 20 points, respectively.

Sea Olympus on the other hand, blasted Phoenix, 90-57, behind another stellar effort from Ayi Armenion who tallied 28.
