VSMMC inaugurates new Cath Lab, Neurosurgical ward

The Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) has inaugarated its second Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Laboratory and Neurosurgical Ward on Saturday morning.
The inaugaration was attended by Health Secretary Paulyn Jean B. Rosell-Ubial with regional health officials.
A Cath Laboratory is a unit capable of cardiac interventions like coronary angiograms, angioplasties, pacemaker insertions, and hemodynamic studies.
To recall, the first Cath Lab at VSMMC opened in 2006 making cardiac interventions available to the Cebuanos.
Also present during the inauguration were VSMMC Director Dr. Gerardo Aquino, Congressmen Bebot Abellanosa, Raul Del Mar, Benhur Salimbangon and Jonas Cortes, DOH-7 Assistant Director Sophia Mancao, and Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy-Cho.
